Database construction and analysis to understanding for the nature of IDPs

Group leader : Motonori Ota (Professor, Nagoya University)
Group member : Satoshi Fukuchi (Assistant Professor, National Institute of Genetics)
Group member : Hidekazu Hiroaki (Professor, Kobe University)

To investigate the structure and function of IDPs by bioinformatics, a database including an adequate number of suitable entries is needed. Using such a database, we can analyse, understand and predict the nature of IDPs for the first time. In this study, we will gather information and publications concerning IDPs, and deposit them with qualified annotations, such as positions, structures, functions, experiments, interactions, and post-translational modifications. Also, we will perform high-throughput analysis on the plausible candidates for IDPs that could be tested experimentally. All the results revealed by this research area will be integrated into our database. Thus, the database should provide a hub that will help researchers in different groups to share information and start collaborations.
